  The (Rather Brief) History of the Foreign Wives Club
   
  Being a stay-at-home mom can be tough even in your own country but far away from home in a country where you don't speak the language well, understand the culture, or have many friends, it is even more challenging. My friends and family in the US were a great source of support but not being in the same situation they couldn't always understand my concerns or offer advice. I needed to find other women like myself and the best way to do that, I decided, was through the Internet.

And thus, in December 2001, Foreign Wives Club was born. From the beginning, running the message board was great fun. I met a lot of smart, witty, wonderful women who have since become friends. They have provided me with invaluable support and advice and have kept me from feeling lonely and isolated. In March of this year, I decided to move Foreign Wives Club to it's own domain and build an entire site around it. Since moving to it's own domain Foreign Wives Club has grown, and I hope we will continue to expand. It is my hope that this site will become an invaluable source of information, advice, support, and friendship for foreign wives around the world. If you like my site, please join and share with us the wisdom your international marriage has given you.

  Jennifer Brown-Konishi, the owner and administrator of Foreign Wives Club, is an American living in Japan with her Japanese husband, Shigeo, and their daughter, Ahmee Isabella. She is a stay-at-home mom and also teaches English out of her home. She has been living in Japan for five years. Hobbies include playing with Ahmee, reading, writing, surfing the net, and watching movies.

Quintarsa is a single mom raising two boys in the USA. She loves reading, internet surfing, and of course, message boards! She believes in attached parenting and breastfeeding and enjoys being an advocate for both.

Sherry is an American married to a Japanese man. She and her husband live in Ichikawa, just east of Tokyo. She works part-time teaching English and she has a wide variety of interests, which include movies, cooking, crochet,cross-stitch, body building, and shopping, and posting lots on the Foreign Wives Club message board, of course!
Nicole (Leylao), FWC Forums Moderator
Nicole is an American currently living in Istanbul, Turkey.  Her husband Yilmaz holds dual French and Turkish nationalities, and son Tayib; American-Turkish.  She has lived overseas through government sponsorship as well as a private resident, in Germany, France, and Turkey.  Her family is not only multi-cultural but celebrate two religions as well.  Hobbies are travel, language, surfing the web, cooking, and time spent with DS.
